Request crawl space help
If water is pouring in under the house or a floor feels unsafe, call. For musty odors, a worn-out vapor barrier or a home-sale inspection follow-up, send a request and a local company will call you back.
Before you call
It helps to have:
- Your street address and town, so the request reaches a company that covers your part of Lee County
- What you've noticed: a musty smell, fallen insulation, water under the house, torn plastic or a soft floor
- Whether the crawl space has open vents or has already been sealed, if you know
- Whether water or storm damage has ever reached the crawl space
- If you're buying or selling, the date your inspection or due diligence period ends
Water under the house after a storm? Don't crawl in while it's standing water or while crawl space equipment is still plugged in. Shut off power to that circuit first and take photos for your insurer.
